This past weekend was the annual National Combine in San Antonio’s Alamodome. Players from near and far come down to compete against the nations best who came out. I was fortunate enough to attend and these are some names to watch for.

Besides stature the the Mississippi State commit showed an ability to have great touch on passes and flashing a very powerful arm. Kept a great attitude throughout the combine and developed quick chemistry with multiple receivers throughout the reps. He was definitely a passer who the wideouts wanted to run routes for. It was my first time seeing him but I left the Alamodome saying “them Bulldogs got one!”.

Jabari had an impressive day. He clocked a 4.5 second 40 yard time and showed incredible hands and concentration in 1on1’s. He’s a quick and explosive receiver with definite separation speed who was successful lined up outside and in the slot today.

A player who immediately passes the eye test, Ty Jackson did not disappoint in his opportunity at the national combine. Great feet and hips in coverage and drill work. Incredible athleticism and physical prospect.

Quanell Farrakhan is a bar setting talent who consistently impresses me at each combine I see him at. He’s grown over the years and continues to add to his game. This weekend he looked the part and is a polished recruit. He looked in control of every rep, I look forward to his final year in Texas high school football.

Keisean stays being a specimen of a prospect. He showed a good ability of touch passes and adding velocity when needed. He looks very comfortable in these camp settings and his performances are better for it.

I was excited to catch up with Cedar Ridge Wide out Reese Brooks. Now 6’4 and 197 lbs he uses his body very well and his catch radius is out of this world combined with his leaping ability. He showcased a-lot of his attributes along with his competitive /business like mentality. I believe he’s a gem of a prospect who should garner some buzz on the recruiting trail this camp season.

Mikhail McCreary did not shy away from competing against the country’s best receivers. The Johnson prospect showed solid skills in 1on1s. He showed good footwork and hand battling on the line and down field against big receivers and speed to hang with smaller ones. He’s a hardworking prospect and one to keep an eye on.

Warren Warriors have a wall of a blocker in 6’5 255 pound Offensive lineman Devin Amos. He stale mated and blocked some impressive names at the combine. I liked his even keel temperament after wins or losses on reps and he took coaching well. Raw talent with a 79 inch wingspan ,Amos will be a problem for pass rushers his senior year for Northside ISD.

Honorable Mentions

I was glad to be able to see some area talent that had solid showings . Boerne Champion 2027 Quarterback Julian Navarette spun the ball well and dropped several passes in the bucket and had nice placement throws. San Antonio Johnson 2027 Quarterback

Elvis Estrada showed some flashes of good deep ball throws and a quick release. Uvalde High School 2025 Defensive back Albert De La Garza Jr showcased impressive station numbers on vertical at 35 inches and a 114 inch broad jump.
