SECONDARY PRIMARY

North Texas will be coming into the game trying to take the top off the defense. The Mean Green average forty-four pass attempts a game and 354 yards a game. This will be a test for the defensive backs group to show out or step up and be formidable. North Texas can complete passes at all levels but, UTSA will also have opportunities at turnovers as in one-third of North Texas games have had multiple interceptions thrown. Being on point and taking advantage of opportunities knowing they will be there is a key.

EYE (I) FORTY-FIVE

In games in which The Roadrunners have asked Owen McCown to throw for over forty-five attempts are the only games he has an interception in. McCown has been safe with the football and aggressive in pushing the ball down the field. Normally the latter bodes more interceptions but has not in this sample size of work for the UTSA passer. Owen has now been in a multitude of games and settings to where he can pick apart the Mean Green defense. I do not think the attempts will reach that mark but if they do… get your popcorn ready!

1-2 PUNCH

In four defeats this season there have been two combinations between them that match. Two losses -with 315 yards passing and two losses-290 yard’s rushing. With the most recent losses having come from dominant rushing games, it is not so much the yardage, but it is the minimum attempts of forty-seven and the time of possession it allows. This game being at home and being ineffective on the ground, The Roadrunners can make this combo come true. The Mean Green run woes can help the Roadrunners.
