Little bit of a reality check last week for UTSA. Ito Smith dominated, Southern Miss’ defensive line was disruptive, and Keon Howard (!) seemed like an all-conference quarterback. Even with all that UTSA still had a chance to tie the game late. This week your Roadrunners go on the road to take on a different type of eagle. Here are the key matchups for this weeks game at North Texas.

QB Mason Fine (5-11, 180) // LB Josiah Tauaefa (6-1, 240)

Our favorite CUSA West quarterback takes on UTSA for the second time in his career. He has been lighting it up so far, throwing for 1,442 yards, and 11 touchdowns (4 INT’s). Fine has looked comfortable in this offense, and it has shown as UNT has started conference play 2-0. As for UTSA they need a big game from their star linebacker. He was relatively quiet last week, but it did seem like Southern Miss was scheming away from him. Tauaefa seems to like to play versus the Mean Green so I expect him to return to his old ways this week.
