The “athlete”. The title comes with its perks and it also has its drawbacks. An athlete outside the lines is someone perceived to be in good shape, mobile, and can excel in physical activities. But on the Football field it can breed excitement, complexity and sometimes uncertainty.

Insert C/O 2021 ATH leader Max DiDomenico from 6A Clemens High School Schertz, Texas . While maintaining a 4.0 GPA Led his team to a (10-2) record last season while being top 10 in the city in passing with 1400 yards/14 TD passes coupled with being 6th in the city with 1,353 yards rushing/19TDs.At the same time also playing defense and projects as a Linebacker or DB at the college level. “He’s D1 talent with Ivy League Grades.” Says Countdown City Preps. Clemens coaching staff has a swiss-army knife type player and welcomed opportunity to balance and showcase all of those skills. Max is fully confident in himself and coaches to have his total talent on display he mentions “I trust them that they will use all of my abilities. We have the best coaches in the state so I am able to let them do what’s best for the team.”

Ultimately that coincides with his goals for his senior season in being the best he can be for his team Max states”I want to continue to show my versatility. I want to show that I can not only run, but throw, and even go to defense if I have to.” Max definitely believes his team will continue its success and accomplish team goals. He says “ I know we can win another district championship and make our way through the playoffs to state.”

At the High School level there’s way more leniency for position placement and opportunity to show case different talents by a player than at the college level. As stated earlier Max projects on the defensive side of the football at the college level as well. How does that affect his recruiting as he is predominantly an Offensive player? When asked about recruiting DiDomenico says “ Things are going great, stressful but good. I just trust God, and pray for him to put me in the best possible position for me.” For those who don’t know, the recruitment game is just that, a game. It’s variables aren’t even controlled by those who set the guidelines. “ Rice is recruiting me the hardest right now.” Max says. At the end of the day a player may only attend one school. The options of and how to get a schools attention is the perceived obstacle. With grades , maturity, skill and effort not being a question, Clemens ATH Max DiDomenico will definitely see more offers, opportunities and attention coming his way this season.

In order to keep all his skills sharp in the off season Max also plays 7on7 football with Texas Smoke. Where he plays receiver and defensive back. He also works out with former UTSA quarterback and QB trainer Brandon Garza twice a week. Who is ecstatic about Max’s future as a quarterback. Brandon Stated “Max’s confidence has grown in the position and he’s definitely a QB! He throws great on the run. He’s a very powerful athlete so we work on high pressure in game situation training. He’s reminiscent of Tim Tebow but faster runner and better passer at their ages.” and Texas Smoke coach Shaun Battles see’s his defensive potential “He’s a natural Strong Safety with good reaction who also plays QB which helps tremendously. He’s a natural leader.” Having a reputation for having understanding of both sides of the ball and excelling at multiple positions on the field will keep his name on a lot of schools ATH list or recruiting boards.

With the grind seemingly non stop for being an all around student athlete, Max draws motivation from his family he says. “ Definitely my family. My parents do a lot for me and are always my biggest fans. They motivate me and make me want to do my very best every game.” He stated. With that support and motivation fueling him Max DiDomenico will continue to thrive at Clemens High School and obviously at any position he can be called on to play for the Buffaloes. He is the consummate definition of “Athlete” or better yet “Student Athlete.” You can watch Max as he continues to lead Clemens his senior year. He’s Max DiDomenico ,and someone you should Get to Know in the 210.
