Where were you way back in 2021? It wasn't so long ago, but it has been the only season that the Roadrunners have gone undefeated in the Alamodome. On Friday night, the 2024 Roadrunners will look to join those Roadrunners of yesteryear by finishing a season undefeated at home. Unlike the 2021 Roadrunners, this year's club needs this win on Friday because they are also trying to avoid the history of being the first Roadrunners to go 0-6 on the road. That's a next week problem. This week the Roadrunners face Temple in a game they have to have for bowl eligibility. For whatever reason, UTSA is a juggernaut at home. That continues on Friday.

The final home game for UTSA is already upon us as Temple will head to The Alamodome this Friday. Temple is coming off a coaching change and an overtime win last weekend, so I expect this squad to have some good fight in them. UTSA has been red-hot for the past couple of weeks. They're sporting their black uniforms for the third time now, I think it's safe to say the black uni's add some extra spice to the Roadrunners this year. I think UTSA will need to not shoot themselves in the foot by committing dumb penalties. If they play smart, this game won't be that close.

It’s hard denying that the Roadrunners are looking like a much improved team in November. Next up they face their NCAA-record fourth and final Owl opponent this season, the Owls of Temple University.
Take care not to overlook that these Owls just parted ways with former head coach Stan Drayton, making this their first game with an interim coach. That’s a scenario that often means a team will play with surprising energy and tenacity. Temple won’t roll over, but UTSA nevertheless should have plenty in the tank to keep the visitors at arm’s length.

UTSA welcomes Temple to the Alamodome for their home finale on Friday night. The Roadrunners (5-5, 3-3 American Athletic Conference) are coming off a 48-27 win over North Texas, where Owen McCown and Robert Henry led the way. Temple (3-7, 2-4 AAC) dismissed head coach Stan Drayton, despite getting an 18-15 overtime win last weekend against FAU.
The Roadrunners' offense has been on fire the past three games, scoring over 44 points in each game and picking up two big wins, which has them one away from becoming bowl-eligible. I look for that to happen on Friday night and for Owen McCown and the UTSA offense to have another big game.

The timing is perfect for the Owls of Temple to hobble into the Alamodome, the Temple program in turmoil and the Roadrunners' best success coming at home. UTSA must put the Owls down for good with bowl eligibility on the line. I expect a focused and energetic squad to take the field and dominate.

I wish I could give you a reason why UTSA plays significantly better at home than on the road. Maybe the Alamodome just really that big of a homefield advantage. Unless you are Army or Houston you are not winning in the Alamodome. Temple is neither of those teams. They will likely come out firing after the dismissal of head coach Stan Drayton. I just don't see how they will be able to take down a UTSA team on senior day looking to become bowl eligible. UTSA wins their third ESPN2 game in a row.
