OFFENSIVE GUARDS/CENTERS - 7 scholarships used
SR -
JR - Bosah Osakwe, Dominic Pastucci
SO - Kevin Davis, Spencer Burford-Watts, Ahofitu Maka
FR - Terrell Haynes, Demetris Allen
Analysis: The interior of the Roadrunner offensive line does not have a senior among the group. The most experienced member of the group of guards and centers might be junior Dominic Pastucci or redshirt freshman Kevin Davis who started all 12 games last season. The starting jobs at both tackle positions and the center position are up for grabs in fall camp.
Bosah Osakwe - Osakwe made an appearance in six games last season, all of them played at center. He enters his junior year as a strong candidate to earn a starting job at center. Osakwe came to UTSA after one season at Contra Costa Junior College in California.
Dominic Pastucci - Pastucci enters his third season as a member of the Roadrunner offensive front line. The Pflugerville Hendrickson product got into 11 games last season as a backup and played on the special teams unit. Pastucci also played in nine games in 2017. Pastucci will work on trying to become a starter during fall camp.
Kevin Davis - Davis came to UTSA two years ago but red-shirted in 2017. He wasted no time last season as he earned the starting center job before the first game and started all 12 games over the ball. He will have to compete with Osakwe for the starting job but his 2018 experience should help him going forward.
Spencer Burford-Watts - The star of the guards and a local product, Spencer Burford-Watts is entering his sophomore season. As a true freshman in 2018 he started in 10 games. The Wagner product will enter the 2019 fall camp in a good position to hold onto one of the starting guard spots.
Ahofitu Maka - Maka is entering his sophomore year but first at UTSA. Last season he played at Independence Community College in Kansas. A native of Hawaii, Maka will provide size up the middle for the Roadrunners.
Terrell Haynes - Haynes will begin his first season with UTSA after red-shirting last year. Before UTSA Haynes played at Arlington Seguin and was second-team all-district in both his senior and junior years. A good fall camp by Haynes could put him atop the depth chart.
Demetris Allen - Allen is a true freshman from Hattiesburg High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Allen was ranked 10th among offensive linemen in the Magnolia State in high school. Fall camp could decide whether Allen is red-shirted or sees action this season. Both options seem possible.
Prediction: The Roadrunners have enough depth to find stability in the middle of the offensive line but who the starters are won't be known until right before the season opener. Whoever it is that starts, stability up the middle could help whoever wins the contest to be starting quarterback.
