CLOCK MANAGEMENT
In only two games this season has Army not possessed the ball more than half the game. They won both of those games as well. So UTSA will need to not slow the clock down but manage tempo and read the room on momentum in the game. Be like water or ride the wave but be in control of the game when on offense. After penalties take extra time to get composure and or if it’s a close call thats in your advantage then get to the line in a hurry and snap a play fast that you’re comfortable with to avoid a review. Control what you can control and thats the snap!
BACK 7
The Back seven of the defense will be tested. This is always key in playing Army. You have to be ready to run support and not be fooled by tight ends slipping into secondary and gouging the defense at multiple and key moments of the contest. Army is a machine and can lull the defense to sleep and get quick scores or ordinary looking plays. The film room will be the back sevens best friend this week.
ROAD DEFENSELESS
UTSA is giving up 42 points a game away from the Alamodome. That will need to be cut down by half to have any chance in this game. Get Army off the field At every possible moment! Short 3rd and 4th downs will be attempted this game and have got to be stopped.
