UTSA and North Texas get together Friday night in the Alamodome. Both teams need a win but UTSA might need it more sitting at 4-5 this season. The Roadrunners also have a chance to become the first team in this rivalry series to beat the other team four games in a row. Having the game in the Alamodome should be good for the Roadrunners. If UTSA can get a takeaway and push that streak of games with a takeaway to 20 then they have a good chance of getting back to .500. I think the Roadrunners get that takeaway and they will shine under the Friday Night Lights in the Alamodome.

Bitter rivals square off again with major season goals on the line this weekend. The Alamodome has eerily developed one of the most intimidating atmospheres to play in college football. It’s hard to pick against UTSA when they are at home, but we’ve also never seen an offense quite like North Texas enter The Alamodome this season. North Texas is scorching on offense, however, UTSA is well capable of dealing with pesky, mobile quarterbacks. I think whoever steps up on defense this weekend will walk away with the W.

For my money, this remains the best rivalry game for UTSA. For both teams, there has been plenty of elation and heartbreak to accompany the wins and losses over the years.
I don't have much insight for this game, except that very few opponents have beaten the Roadrunners at home under Jeff Traylor. And although injuries have kept UTSA thin at multiple positions, the bye week should have allowed for some healing. Those two factors give me just enough confidence to tilt my prediction in the Roadrunners' direction.

UTSA (4-5, 2-3 American Athletic Conference) is coming off a bye week after beating Memphis in one of the biggest wins in program history two weeks ago. They will now get ready to take on North Texas (5-4, 2-3 AAC) in a big game for both programs. The Roadrunners need to win two of their three remaining games to become bowl-eligible, while the Mean Green need just one more win. I look for the Roadrunners to come out like they did against Memphis and stay perfect in the Alamodome this season.

With how this season has gone and this matchup and the distain the students of these schools have for one another I’m calling for a classic. The Roadrunner's just get it at home. I expect big plays and swings of momentum in all phases of the game. Ultimately with UTSA making a defensive stop to hold on to victory.

Just when you think you have this years Roadrunners figured out they go out and beat a ranked team. UTSA followed up one of their worst loses in program history with one of their best. While North Texas is not Memphis they sure can put up some numbers through the air. If the bye week is able to bring back a few players in the secondary I feel good about UTSA's chances. The home Roadrunners show up again on national television.
