Richard Torres - ’22 - Southside HS (Texas Smoke, 7v7)

At 6-6”, 205 pounds Torres has arguably the strongest arm in the country for 2022. I've heard his passes hit receivers in the chest and it sound like the crack of a bat. Its no stretch to say his arm can cover 75-80 yards of the field at any moment. Moving into his senior year at Southside, where this young man can lead this squad is limitless. He moves well for his size and can avoid the rush and make busted plays look routine. With an incredible offseason of work on strength and skill and playing on area Texas Smoke 7v7 team, look for Richard to improve all around as a passer for his Senior season.

Sylas Gomez - ’22 - Central Catholic (Texas Smoke,7v7)

The 6-2”, 180 pound Button QB has been on a rapid incline and primed for his senior season since his freshman off season. With a forever cool demeanor there is a furnace of ambition and determination inside of this leader. He’s a calculating and athletic player who makes most throws and highly accurate. He runs with are Texas Smoke 7v7 team where 9/10 of the drives he led ended in a touchdown. While being seen as a Pro style quarterback Gomez also has mobility in his pocket as he played receiver for 2 years as well. 6 games played this season Gomez finished with 50/72completions 6 touchdowns 0 interceptions 780 yards passing and 469 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns.

Britton Moore - ’22 - Reagan

At 6-0”, 175 pound the swift footed Rattlers QB is a southpaw who can sling it. He led the Rattlers to a 9-2 record and a district title. He can beat you with his legs and arm equally. When scrambling he completes passes short or long from multiple arm angles with zip and precision. Looking to repeat as district champs Regan has a QB with a firm grip of the offense and plentiful ability to ensure that may happen again. He was just recently offered a scholarship by NAVY. Last season Moore had over 1,000 passing yards and over 750 rushing yards.

Ashton Dubose - ’23 - Brennan

The 6-2”, 190 pound Bears young leader is a talent to be watched for the next few years in the 210. Took a big step forward helping Brennan win district this year. He finished his sophomore season with over 2,000 yards passing and over 830 yards rushing. As he moves into his junior year look towards him excelling in his ability of passing and running the ball. Normally the biggest performance jump is between sophomore and junior year in growth, strength and comprehension of responsibilities at the QB position for a talent that’s had early varsity experience. That bodes extremely well for Coach Basore and the Brennan Bears.

Kevin Brashears - ’23 - Stevens

The 6-0”, 160 pound Falcons QB is a name to keep an eye on. I saw him multiple games this past season and it looked as though the more the reigns were loosened the better the young man performed. He’s got a for sure go to guy in Ethan Jace Gonzales, the two connected on 82 passes last season. Brashears threw over 2,300 yards with 555 yards on the ground. With things on the upswing at Stevens High School, a great off season of workouts by Brashears can breed continued success and consistency for the young quarterback.
