Can UTSA clean up the turnovers?

It might not have been the prettiest win on Saturday, but UTSA got it done is somewhat convincing fashion. Something that really prevented UTSA from bowling Alabama State was the turnovers. Some of it might have just been the first game jitters, so UTSA gets a pass against an FCS opponent. What the Roadrunners cannot afford to do is the same thing against Colorado State. If they can limit that facet of their game it gives them a great chance at the upset.

Will Sturm put consecutive impressive performances together?

Even with the quarterback rotation factoring in Sturm did about as well as you could ask. He did have an interception on a pass he forced near the end zone, but aside from that he put together a near perfect performance. He will face an FBS defense this Saturday so things probably won't be as easy against Colorado State. Fortunately for him and the UTSA offense Colorado State's defense has some serious holes in the secondary and defensive line.

Can UTSA build off a school record six sacks?

All fall camp the staff emphasized how aggressive this defense would be. Pete Golding made sure everyone know that UTSA is out to get the opposing quarterback. UTSA doesn't necessarily have to get six sacks against Colorado State, but they do need to create pressure on a quarterback that is making his first start. Davenport is the obvious threat here, but as UTSA showed it will use their linebackers, and defensive backs to get after the quarterback.

What will we see from Josiah Tauaefa?

The second most impressive performance this past weekend came from redshirt freshman linebacker Josiah Tauaefa. UTSA has never had a linebacker quite like him. His sideline-to-sideline speed, sure tackling, and nose for the ball will make him a staple of this UTSA defense for years to come. He will have his hands full against a solid group of Colorado State running backs and mobile quarterback.

Can UTSA stop the run?

If UTSA wants a chance at beating Colorado State it has to limit the Rams running game. With CSU's experienced offensive line it will be a challenge to stop Dalyn Dawkins and the rest of the CSU running backs. If UTSA can force Faton Bauta to throw the ball more than he needs to it will increase the likelihood of turnovers in favor of UTSA.
