Campbell Chooses UTSA

All along, '14 Atascocita wide receiver Greg Campbell knew he wanted to decide his future on Christmas day. But as the recruiting process went on, he then learned his decision would come down to two schools, UTSA and Colorado State. Well the time has come, and on this Christmas morning Campbell is announcing he has decided to verbally commit to the Roadrunners in San Antonio.
"I have decided to commit to UTSA." - Campbell

Though the decision came down to two schools, Campbell also held offers from Texas State, Utah, Louisiana Monroe, and Southeastern. But he mentioned the people at UTSA, along with one coach in particular, as a big reason why he chose UTSA.
"Coach Jeffery is an amazing person and a great coach. And my parents really enjoyed visiting with him. But the people at the school, not just the school, also felt right. And the players there are great too." - Campbell
There's no question Campbell is a fantastic addition to UTSA's 2014 recruiting class. He will bring speed and a play-making ability to UTSA that is similar to that of current Roadrunner Kam Jones. And as a matter of fact, the staff plans to use him much like how they use Jones on offense already.
"I plan to redshirt my first year and then play four years after that. But the staff plans to use me in ways like they use Kam Jones. I'll line up all over the offense and use my speed to help the offense get down the field." - Campbell
Campbell has speed and quickness for days, and it's exactly what UTSA will need more of once Jones and the big group of senior wide receivers graduate after the 2014 season. And Campbell commented on exactly what he will bring to the Roadrunner's roster.
"I'm very good with the ball after the catch in open space. And my football IQ is high because I've been playing tackle football since I was four. So I know I can bring a lot of positives to this team." - Campbell
Though the program is still young, Campbell is familiar with UTSA's football team and he's excited to take the program to higher levels.
"I know that UTSA can now play in bowl games and that they have already done very well. But in my time there, I want to win multiple bowl games, win conference awards and championships, and also set new receiving records." - Campbell
Whether you see this as a great Christmas present for UTSA's football team or simply a great addition to the Roadrunner's recruiting class, this is without a doubt a good day for UTSA and the football staff as they now have yet another solid commitment for 2014.
