UTSA women 58, New Mexico State 55

The UTSA women's basketball team got its first win of the season in the home opener on Friday night against the New Mexico State Aggies. The Roadrunners held on for a 58-55 win over the Aggies despite not making a field goal in the final 2:34 of game play.

UTSA improved to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 at home with the win. The Roadrunners used a strong third quarter, outscoring the Aggies 19-9 to take a 45-40 lead and erasing a 31-26 halftime deficit. UTSA was able to maintain its lead in the final quarter despite being outscored by two points in the final quarter.

Aysia Proctor led the Roadrunners with 19 points. Kyra White scored 13 points for the Roadrunners. Idara Udo led the Roadrunners with 11 rebounds.

The Roadrunners will be on the road for their next couple of games. UTSA is at Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Wednesday night. The Roadrunners next home game will be November 30 when they welcome I-35 rivals Texas State to the Convocation Center.

UTSA men 76, Minnesota 102

The Roadrunner men's basketball team found out where they stand against Big 10 competition on Friday night and it didn't end well for UTSA.

Minnesota never trailed on their way to a comfortable 102-76 win over the Roadrunners at historic Williams Arena in Minneapolis. The Roadrunners found themselves in front of greatness as former UTSA football player Marcus Davenport, now with the Minnesota Vikings, made his way to the game.

Four Roadrunners scored in double figures led by Dre Fuller Jr.'s 16 points. PJ Carter scored 15 points followed by Adante Holiman with 14 points and Trey Edmonds with 12.

UTSA will be on the road for the next three games, all in the state of Texas against Lamar, Texas State and Houston Christian. The Roadrunners next home game will be on November 24 when they host the Roadrunner/Cardinal Classic with UIW and Jacksonville State visiting the Convocation Center.
